Good Morning, and Welcome to anxiouslycrochet.shop!
Thank you for visiting my blog. Feel free to visit my facebook group Crochet Queens and Crochet and Crafts by Latoya. Well let’s get into these awesome crochet mitts. I personally love these mitts because I can still text on my phone and my wrist and hands can still be warm!
In this tutorial, you will need acrylic yarn in the color of bright blue, orange, and white. (You could also substitute the acrylic for cotton as well.)
Also: A 4.5 or 5.0 millimeter hook
A yarn needle and scissors
Begin by chaining 28
Row 1: With color Orange, In the second chain from the hook sc in this chain and in each remaining chain in the row. (Be careful not to twist your work.) Then do a slip stitch in the 1st chain you made.
Row 2: Ch 1, and do a hdc in the same chain as chain 1. Then follow each stitch by one hdc down the row. Ch 1. ( We are working in the round.)
Row 3: Repeat Row 2, 3more times/rounds.
Row 6: Pick up your bright blue. ( I like to add the other colors by the chain 1 space) In the same space do 1 hdc, and 1 hdc in each stitch around. Chain 1.
Row 7: Do 1 hdc in the same stitch as chain one, do 10 hdc in 10 stitches, chain 4, skip 4 stitches and slip stitch in the next stitch. Do hdc in the remaining of stitches in the round. Ch 1.
Row 8: With bright blue still do hdc stitches in the round but when getting to the space for your thumb you want to do 5 HDC in this space, continue doing hdc stitches in the round.
Row 9: Do this round all in hdc in the round.
Row 10: Pick up your white and slip stitch, and chain 1, (You could cut your blue leaving a small tail, I usually crochet over the small tails) Do 1 hdc stitch in the same chain 1 space, and in each remaining stitch in the round.
Row 11: Do Hdc in each stitch in the stitches in the round.
Row 12: Repeat Row 11, 5 more times.
Optional: You could continue to make more hdc stitches in the round to create a longer fingerless mitts. I would stop less than an inch after the wrist. The choice is yours if you want longer mitts.
Weave in your ends, and you’re all done!
